What I Do All Day

July 7th, 2008 by AR

I originally intended to write a bit about our awesome trip on Friday to Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, with the Beans, Mullins and Joneses (Happy Birthday Mike), but since we don’t have any pictures I didn’t think it would be that interesting.  We came, we got rained on, we ate ribs.  There were some rides, too.  But I digress…

Instead, I thought of a MUCH more exciting topic:  what does Adam do all day?  Unfortunately I don’t have time to talk about my work, but I will give you a glimpse of what I do in the hours between working and lunch, and working and quitting time.  I suppose in some other positions employees might have time to look out a window, make a phone call or read…  I just go back to the same 3-4 websites, over and over and over again.

This morning I was greeted with a few gems:

91-year old woman drops her keys and gets on the ground to look for them.  Gets stuck under car for two days.  Mailman finally notices, calls Fire dept.  They free her, and then notice that her keys were in the car door all along.  Link

New alarm clock concept in Taiwan.  Instead of making you work to turn it off like some other designs, this alarm clock randomly calls someone in your cell phone contact list every 3 minutes until you turn it off.  I’d say that would work.  Link

And how about this last one; you can’t make this stuff up:

Giant Rubber Snakes to Capture Wave Power?  Link

The fact that the title contains a question mark doesn’t surprise me at all.  It’s as if somebody told the poor writer, “You need to solve this alternative energy thing NOW! What have you got?” . . . “Giant Rubber Snakes?”.  Luckily for the writer, the concept does somehow exist so he was able to get some content for his article.

These are just 3 of the thousands of stories I’ve read today alone.  So, if you’ve ever wondered about me, maybe that will give you some insight.
