I Am So Smrt. S-M-R-T. I’m also hot.
Since we moved into our house a year and a half ago, my office has always been the hottest room. It doesn’t help that I have a guitar amp and a large computer that are usually both up and running while I’m in the room. This being the obvious heat source, I just assumed what everyone else did,. . .”It’s a hot room.”
So today I decide that this record Texas summer has cooked our home past my liking, and that I would close the A/C vent for the one unused room in order to help cool the rest of the house. That’s when it struck me. As I’m closing the guest bedroom vent I notice that it wasn’t 100% open, but rather more like 80%. I walked from room to room to make sure the rest were fully open and found that most of them were. . . except for my office.
My office vent was about 60% closed. I turned the fan off, freed the chain from the painted vent grill and immediately the cold air poured forth. It felt like I had just turned the shower on. I let the room cool for a few hours and came back, and it has immediately become not only tolerable, but the coldest room in our house. Unfortunately/fortunately, it will no longer be my office in a month or two, as it will become Grayson’s room instead.
Moral of the story is, don’t be stupid, or you’ll sweat for a year and a half. The end.

Will the amp fit in the crib?

Thanks for the vote of confidence.
So, I’m negligent and you’re stupid. Sweet.
